Manchester United have been looking to sign a new right back for some time and the name of Denzel Dumfries is once again in the focus.
Last summer, the Red Devils were readying an offer to lure the Dutch international from Inter Milan, who was valued at 40 million euros, but the move could not happen.
As per today’s version of La Gazzetta Dello Sport (press image provided below), the Old Trafford club are one of the most interested sides in hiring the services of the Oranje player.
They are eyeing his signing for the next season but could bring the operation forward to get the deal done in the current transfer window.
As far as the current valuation is concerned, the Italian media outlet have mentioned that it would take a fee of £53million (60 million euros) to sign him.
Dumfries has been an important member of the Inter Milan side under the guidance of Simone Inzaghi. The versatile talent can effectively play anywhere on the right side of the field.
Lately, for Inter and for the national side, he has mainly played as a right midfielder in the 3-5-2 and 3-4-3 systems.
Last season, he scored 5 goals and provided 7 assists in all competitions as the Nerazzurri went on to win the Coppa Italia and Super Cup titles. This term, so far, he has netted 2 goals and provided 3 assists for the Serie A giants.
At the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, Dumfries was brilliant under Louis van Gaal. He was named the Man of the Match in the Round of 16 against USA. The 26-year-old scored a goal and provided 2 assists vs the Americans.
At Old Trafford, Ten Hag has not preferred Wan-Bissaka, who has mainly been a bench warmer in the current campaign. In your view, should Man Utd bid £53million to sign Denzel Dumfries?
