ETH ready to sign PL star and make him Man Utd’s 7th highest paid player

Manchester United are eyeing a surprise move to sign Jordan Pickford from Everton and may face competition from Tottenham Hotspur for his signature.

That’s according to The Sun who claim that United are prepared to offer the 28-year-old £200k-a-week to tempt him into moving to Old Trafford.

That would make him the joint seventh highest-paid player at United behind David de Gea, Jason Sancho, Raphael Varane, Casemiro, Anthony Martial and Bruno Fernandes, according to Spotrac.

Pickford reportedly wants to stay at Everton, but he is currently in dispute with the Toffees regarding new contract talks.

As a result, United and Spurs are ready to swoop in and double his current £100k-a-week salary.

Manchester United willing to pay Jordan Pickford £200k-a-week

United are believed to be battling Tottenham to sign Pickford after contract talks with Everton stalled.

The England number one is a very good goalkeeper, albeit too easily excitable. He has conceded 313 goals in 217 games for Everton and has kept 57 clean sheets in the process.

Pickford is a great shot-stopper and has a very impressive range of passing in his arsenal. With De Gea being offered only £200k-a-week – a considerable drop in his current salary – it would be no surprise to see the 28-year-old become United’s new number one.

If United have a chance to sign Pickford this month or in the summer, it’s one that Erik ten Hag should probably take.

Whether the Red Devilscano beat Tottenham in the race for his signature remains to be seen.
