Manchester United target, Cody Gakpo, ended up joining Liverpool and now, the Red Devils are stalling to sign Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid.

As per today’s version of The Telegraph (news image provided below), the Rojiblancos are looking to get a fee of £13.3million (15 million euros) to send the player on loan until the end of the campaign.

However, Man Utd are just prepared to pay half of the asking price i.e. around £6.6m to lure the attacker on temporary basis.

The British media outlet have mentioned that the Red Devils will also have to cover Felix’s wages of around £204,0000-a-week, £5.3million for six 6 months.

It is reported that due to the high asking fee set by the Colchoneros, the 20-time English champions have backed away from the deal for now but they have not ended their interest in the Portuguese international.

As per the news source, the above mentioned terms have also been offered to Chelsea and Premier League leaders, Arsenal.

Erik ten Hag is desperate to reinforce the offensive options after losing last season’s Player of the Year, Cristiano Ronaldo, but the the uncertainty surrounding the ownership and funds is not helping.

If United continue to stall then the Old Trafford faithful may see another key target join a rival club in the January transfer window.

As per today’s version of AS, Atletico are looking for a loan deal worth 9 million euros provided the player’s wages are paid in full for the current campaign.

The Spanish news source claim Felix and his reps are expecting things to speed up this week but so far, no real offer has reached the Wanda Metropolitano offices.
