Manchester United should sign a new forward to replace Cristiano Ronaldo and the name of Marcus Thuram is in the limelight.
According to a recent story covered by Bild, Borussia Monchengladbach can earn a fee of around 12 million euros (£10.6million) by selling their striker in the January transfer window.
On the other hand, the German side can opt to hold on to the player until summer so that he can help them earn European qualification.
Thuram’s current contract with the Bundesliga side will expire on June 30, 2023 and as per people close to him, in winter, he really dreams to move to one of four clubs and one of them is Manchester United.
The French international has been in fantastic form for Borussia Monchengladbach in the current campaign.
Before the World Cup, the Les Bleus star featured in 17 games in all competitions and directly contributed in as many goals (13 goals and 4 assists).
In Qatar, the 25-year-old forward started 2 games (5 appearances) under the management of Didier Deschamps and provided two assists for France, one in the final against Argentina.
Since Robin van Persie netted 26 goals in our title-winning 2012-13 campaign, not even a single Man Utd player has managed to score 20 goals in a Premier League season.
Thuram is fast and can finish well. In all fairness, signing a player in his peak years for just £10.6million would be a massive bargain and in my view, Man Utd should move in to hire his services. What do you think?
