Man Utd could sign “world-class” striker for under £10m, Ten Hag wants him

United are in dire need of a striker in the January transfer window after Cristiano Ronaldoacrimoniously left the club on the eve of the World Cup.

In turn, Marcus Rashford and the injury-prone Anthony Martial are the only senior players at Erik ten Hag’s disposal capable of playing the central striker role.

Meanwhile, Thuram, the son of former France and Juventus defender Lilian Thuram, has starred in the Bundesliga this term and played a key role in Les Bleus’ run to the World Cup final.

Despite France suffering penalty heartbreak and the hands of Argentina in Sunday’s final, Thuramcame off the bench to reignite his team and put them in touching distance of consecutive World Cups.

Thuram to United?

According to Sport Bild, United have expressed an interest in signing Thuram from Borussia Monchengladbach.

The Bundesliga side are open to selling the 25-year-old, whose contract expires in June, and would reportedly accept as little as £9.6million for his services.

United allegedly see Thuram as the ideal candidate to replace Ronaldo.

While Thuram failed to score in his five World Cup appearances for France, he is currently one of the most productive strikers in the Bundesliga.

The forward has racked up ten goals in 15 games for Monchengladbach this term and attracted the interest of various Premier League clubs in the process, including Newcastle and Tottenham.
