Manchester United could consider Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane to solve striker issue
Manchester United are open to considering a move for Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane in order to solve issues in the attack, according to GiveMeSport (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Red Devils have been linked with the England international in the past and could swoop in for his signature. Premier League rivals Newcastle United are also in the mix for the 29-year-old.
The Spurs striker was close to joining Manchester City in the summer of 2021. However, a deal failed to materialise. In the end, the Sky Blues signed Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund in the recent transfer window.
Kane’s current contract at the North London side expires at the end of next season. For now, an extension on his existing deal is not in sight. But the forward is happy under Antonio Conte.
However, the 29-year-old is also keen on getting his hands on some silverware. Thus, the Englishman could move away from Tottenham.
In the current campaign, Kane has been in fine form for Spurs. In 22 appearances in all competitions for the North London side, he has found the back of the net 13 times and provided three assists. The England international was also pivotal for the Three Lions in Qatar.
At Man United, Cristiano Ronaldo recently departed the club just before the start of the 2022 World Cup. The 37-year-old’s untimely departure from the Red Devils has dwindled Erik ten Hag’s options in the attack.
Currently, we only have one natural striker in the squad—Anthony Martial. However, the France international’s injury issues this season have been concerning. He has not remained fit for most of the campaign.
