Manchester United are ready to hand a bumper £400,000-a-week contract to Marcus Rashford if he is prepared to commit his long-term future to the club, The Daily Star report.
The England international has been in splendid form for the Red Devils this campaign, registering eight goals and three assists from 19 games in all competitions.
He was also superb for the Three Lions at the World Cup with three goals, and United are now keen on sorting out his future amid interest from top European clubs.
Rashford recently turned down a £300,000-a-week proposal and the club are now prepared to increase the offer to £400,000 weekly to make him their highest earner.
They are ready to hand him the bumper salary if he agrees to stay long-term.
United must secure Marcus Rashford’s future
Rashford had a difficult 2021/22 season with just seven goal contributions from 32 games, but he has looked back to his best under manager Erik ten Hag this term.
The Dutch tactician has decided to play to his strengths. Rashford still has to improve with his finishing, but he is now playing with plenty of confidence behind him.
Rashford’s current £200,000-a-week deal expires next summer, but the club have the option of keeping him for another campaign via an extension clause in his contract.
The 12-month option is likely to be triggered before January 1 in order to prevent him from negotiating with foreign clubs and most especially Paris Saint-Germain.
United have roughly until the end of the season to convince Rashford to stay. In case they fail to do so, the £48 million-rated star could be sold over the summer.
