Director specifically quizzed on Manchester United swooping for 21-year-old – Player aware of interest

Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are the two right-backs at Manchester United and the latter’s future seems to be away from Old Trafford.

Dalot’s contract expires in 2023 and the Red Devils, who have an option to extend it by a year, are working to tie him to a long-term deal.

Manchester United are also planning to sign a new right-back and Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong is identified as one of their targets.

On November 29th, Sky Deutschland explaned the Netherlands international is aware of Manchester United’s interest.

The 21-year-old has five goals and three assists this season. The German club’s sporting director, Simon Rolfes, is not surprised the Dutchman has drawn attention from top clubs.

Frimpong’s contract lasts until 2025 and that means there’s less worry over the possibility of losing the Dutchman. Rolfes made this clear when Sky Deutschland asked specifically about Manchester United interest in the ex-Celtic defender.

“We are very relaxed with Jeremie. It would be fatal if he didn’t draw attention to himself from big clubs with these performances,” Rolfes said.

“He is very conspicuous with his way of playing and is an enormously important player for us. I told him that he will still get his playing time with his quality within the tournament.

“He can decide a game with a single action because he’s incredibly quick and good at dribbling. We’ll be happy when he’s back [after the World Cup] with us. Jeremie has a long-term contract at Leverkusen, so we’re very relaxed.”
