Tottenham Hotspur, PSG and Man Utd have reportedly been dealt a huge blow in their pursuit of Inter Milan’s centre-back Milan Skriniar, as the defender looks likely to sign a new deal at San Siro.

The Slovakian international has been a vital part of Inter’s rebuild since signing from Sampdoria back in 2017, playing 233 games for the Nerazzurri.

Inter’s vice president Javier Zanetti has declared that he is confident that the 27-year-old centre-back will sign a new long-term deal at the club.

“We are in talks to extend the contract as conversations are progressing well. We hope to get it done and signed soon,” Zanetti told Italian broadcaster SportMediaset after the UEFA Champions League round of 16 draw.

The 2020-21 Serie A holders currently find themselves seventh in the Italian top-tier, 11 points behind leaders Napoli.

Last terms runners-up will look to move into the top four with win at home to Bologna on Wednesday, provided that Atalanta, AS Roma and Juventus all fail to win.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are also planning to make another Inter Milan star Lautaro Martinez who has been identified as a possible replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo.
