Manchester United are consistently linked with Martin Zubimendi, who could end up leaving Real Sociedad in the winter transfer window.
A few days back, AS revealed that the Red Devils are willing to pay the £52million release clause to sign the midfielder from the Spanish side.
As per yesterday’s version of Mundo Deportivo (press image provided below), Sociedad believe the player wants to stay.
President, Jokin Aperribay, has claimed that he is not in favor of selling the player but will be helpless if a club opts to activate the clause. He thinks that £52million is ‘a lot of money’.
MD claim that Man United have eyes fixed on Zubimendi and regarding the clause, they are the greatest threat since they have the economic power of spending big sums.
Last summer, the 20-time English champions allowed Serbian defensive midfielder, Nemanja Matic, to leave the club for free.
The Old Trafford outfit eventually replaced the veteran DM by signing a world class holding midfield player in the form of Casemiro.
United also lost record signing, Paul Pogba, on a free transfer but the dilemma is that they have not replaced him as yet.
Zubimendi is primarily a play breaker, who rarely goes forward to create/score goals. In your view, who should Man Utd sign to reinforce their midfield?
