Serie A giants, Inter Milan would reportedly be willing to sell Milan Skriniar during the winter transfer window if the centre-back fails to sign a new deal at San Siro before the end of the year.

The 27-year-old’s current deal at San Siro is set to expire next June, and there has been a host of rumours surrounding his future over the last few weeks.

Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain have been heavily linked with the Slovakia international, while both Man Utd and Chelsea are believed to be keen to bring him to the Premier League.

A recent report suggested that the 20-times English champions could use Donny van de Beek as part of a swap deal for the defender, who has played 12 games in all competitions for Inter this term.

Inter CEO Giuseppe Marotta recently called Skriniar “a certainty” for the team when asked about the latest developments.

“It’s annoying to see how these things disrupt, I say that the players are professionals but at the same time they’re very young and they’re being put under this kind of pressure,” Marotta told reporters.

“It would be better to reduce the transfer window but this is an unusual season with the World Cup in the middle. Skriniar is a certainty for our team.”

However, according to Tuttosport, Inter Milan would be willing to sell 27-year-old defender during the winter transfer window if it became clear that he would not be signing a new deal.

The report suggests that an offer of between €20m (£17.6m) and €25m (£22m) would likely be considered by the Serie A giants, who do not want to run the risk of losing him on a free transfer next June.

Inter Milan are allegedly preparing to hold talks with Skriniar’s agents this week, as the Serie A outfit attempt to convince the centre-back to commit his future to the club.

According to Italian journalist Gianluca di Marzio, Inter Milan are prepared to pay the Slovakian a salary that would make him one of the top earners at the club.

“The offer will be for around €6m-€6.5m (£5.3m-£5.7m) net per season,” said Di Marzio. “And if the player asks for what PSG (Paris Saint-Germain) offered him in the summer, it’s clear that no agreement can be found.”

The centre-back has played 227 games for Inter Milan since arriving from Sampdoria back in 2017, scoring 11 goals and four assists in the process.

Skriniar has also won silverware during his time at San Siro, lifting the Serie A title, Coppa Italia and Italian Super Cup, while he helped the team reach the Europa League final in 2019-20.
