Manchester United may part ways with Cristiano Ronaldo soon and to replace him, they are targeting a new superstar.
According to Spanish source, Erik ten Hag is pressing Vinicius Jr to not accept Real Madrid’s offer and move to Old Trafford.
In the last campaign, the Brazilian international scored 22 goals and provided 20 assists in all competitions as the Los Blancos went on to win the La Liga and the Champions League titles.
So, without a shadow of a doubt, he deserves a bumper new contract at the Bernabeu.
Last month, AS reported that Vinicius, who is now worth £104million, has agreed a new deal with Madrid worth 8 million euros a season i.e. around £134,000 a week.
However, the deal has not been made official as yet. The Catalan media outlet mention that Ten Hag has promised to offer the Samba star a higher salary than what Perez has put on the table. Therefore, Man Utd are willing to agree terms over £134,000 a week.
Moreover, it is stated that the Red Devils are ready to hand him the iconic No. 7 shirt that will soon be vacant after Ronaldo’s exit.
Vinicius, who is in Qatar with Brazil for the World Cup, is one of the best young players in the word. This season, he has so far netted 10 goals and provided 5 assists for the 14-time European Champions.
Last summer, Man Utd were able to lure Casemiro from Real Madrid. Can they persuade Vinicius with money to move to Old Trafford? Only time will tell.
