If reports in the media are anything to go by then Man Utd are interested in signing Swiss international and RB Salzburg striker, Noah Okafor.

Two days ago, Florian Plettenberg claimed that the 22-year-old center forward, who has been in impressive form, could leave the Austrian club in January.

The Sky Sports journalist stated that Man United are not looking at the youngster could cost around as high as 40 million euros (£35million).

However, as per today’s version of Salzburger Nachrichten (press image provided below), Man Utd are one of the clubs looking to sign the former Basel striker in the winter transfer window.

Praising Okafor, Salzburg’s sporting director, Christoph Freund, stated:

“I believe that in the past years. Okafor has really taken off. I hope he plays a good World Cup then the Noah Okafor stock can become very interesting. I’m not ruling out a transfer.”

This season, the Swiss striker has so far started 14 games in all competitions under the management of young coach, Matthias Jaissle, and directly contributed in 12 goals (10 goals and 2 assists).

Cavani left the 20-time English champions in the summer and Ronaldo is expected to leave this winter. Therefore, to replace the veterans, a young center forward must be lured by Erik ten Hag.
