Man United are the latest team to show an interest in signing Shakhtar Donetsk’s Mykhaylo Mudryk.

Undoubtedly, this Manchester United squad will continue to adapt and evolve under Erik ten Hag. Personnel changes will happen, slowly but surely, as the boss continues to find that perfect balance for his style of play.

With the January transfer window now approaching quickly, the transfer stories are starting to pick up the pace again.

The latest claim links Man United with a possible move for Shakhtar Donetsk’s latest talent, Mykhaylo Mudryk.

It’s The Sun with the story, who says United are ‘keeping tabs’ on the 21-year-old who they describe as a wonderkid. Mudryk, who is also attracting interest from Arsenal, has scored three Champions League goals already this season,

Apparently, the Reds have been tracking the player for ‘a while now’, with the winger catching the eye after some impressive displays.

It’s common knowledge that Ten Hag still wants to sign another winger despite Antony’s arrival over the summer. Whether or not a January move will happen remains to be seen. Shakhtar, understandably, are reluctant to let one of their prized assets leave on the cheap.

Mudryk’s ability to play on the wing or in that number ten position makes him more attractive due to his versatility. In an ever-evolving, fast-paced game, that adaptability is key.

OTF’s verdict

United are not likely to spend big in the mid-season window. It’s just not something this club has ever done. Mudryk is someone who’ll be heavily sought-after come the summer, so having Champions League football on the table is a must.

You’d expect the Reds’ priority will be replacing Cristiano Ronaldo first and foremost. Mudryk is someone who feels like a luxury for United right now, though he could become a world-class star in the not-too-distant future.
