Man United are considering making a move for Leicester City playmaker James Maddison but will face competition from other PL clubs. England international could be in search of a move in the near future, with the Foxes struggling so far in the PL this campaign.
James himself has had an excellent couple of years for the Foxes, including this campaign, but not enough to impress Gareth Southgate for England. The English attacker has contributed five goals and two assists from his eight starts, many of his strikes being efforts from outside of the penalty area.
A move to a bigger club may be necessary for Maddison to finally cement a regular place in the England squad, and Man United are interested in signing the 25-year-old attacker but will face competition from Newcastle United and Tottenham.
The Englishman has shown during his time at Leicester City that he has the versatility to play in many positions. His favoured position over the years has been in the number ten position, but not many clubs play a formation that utilises a number ten, so he’s had to adapt.
James has played in a slightly deeper midfield role for the Foxes and has also been used out wide, allowing him to drift inside into his favoured central role. A move to Man United could mean he is allowed to play more centrally, but he will face competition from the likes of Eriksen and Bruno Fernandes.
