Manchester United were seriously interested in signing Joao Felix in the summer transfer window but Atletico did not let him leave.
Now, reports suggest that the Portuguese international wants to leave the Rojiblancos and he could finally end up moving to Old Trafford.
In the final days of the last transfer window, Man Utd moved in with an offer of £113m (130 million euros) to lure the Selecao playmaker. However, the bid was turned down by the Colchoneros (Marca).
According to a recent report covered by Deportes Cuatro, super agent, Jorge Mendes, could take Ronaldo out of United and replace him with Felix.
Cristiano wants to leave the Red Devils and Felix wants to exit the Wanda Metropolitano outfit. It is reported that Man Utd would be interested in hiring the services of the former Benfica boy.
Felix is a versatile playmaker, who can effectively play on either flank but has mainly excelled in the No. 10 role. Not to forget, he scored a sublime goal against us in the Champions League last season.
This term, Diego Simeone has mainly used him from the bench. So far, the 22-year-old has only started 5 games in the league and 2 in the Champions League. Not an ideal preparation for the upcoming World Cup.
On the other hand, Ronaldo is also warming the bench and is more of a troublemaker in the current campaign.
Felix’s current deal with Atletico Madrid will expire in 2026, so, he will definitely not come for cheap. It must be remembered that the La Liga side splashed over 120 million euros to sign him and he earns around £255,000 a week (The Sun).
