Man United closely monitoring 21-year-old Bundesliga defender

Man United are planning to raid Bayer Leverkusen to secure the service of Jeremie Frimpong in winter. The Red Devils have been searching for a suitable competitor for Diogo Dalot, who has established himself as the first-choice right-back under new coach Erik ten Hag.

Dalot has not missed a single game across all tournaments. But a possible injury to Diogo would be a major blow to Man United’s aspirations this term. Man United assembled a quality side capable of ending the monopoly of Man City and Liverpool.

Wins over Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham have cemented their belief. And Erik ten Hag now wants an upgrade over  Wan-Bissaka, whose stock has fallen since the arrival of the new coach. Persistent injury problems have halted Wan-Bissaka’s progress.

And if a suitable offer arrives, it might be the end of his Man United career in winter. U21 Netherlands international came through the ranks at Man City and departed for Scotland in 2019 when Celtic came calling for the defender.

Frimpong caught the eye of several teams with his consistent performance, and Bayer Leverkusen earned his rights as they paid a sum in the region of £10m in 2021. Celtic had to compensate Man City with a substantial fee, and they will be entitled to a windfall should the Red Devils agree to a move for Jeremie with the Bundesliga giants.
