Man United keeping close tabs with No.9 prolific French striker

Erik ten Hag may target a cut-price move for Moussa Dembele in the winter as Man United look for attacking reinforcements. Bringing in a new centre-forward is important following the troubles with Ronaldo. And the Lyon striker is one of the options under consideration, although a move would depend on his ability to fit stylistically.

The Dutch coach could safely assume he has revitalised the Red Devils in the short term after a few excellent results. But Erik ten Hag’s long-term objective will need plenty of support from the club’s board, including bringing the right footballers in.

Man United’s immediate requirement would be a new centre-forward amid the troubles with Ronaldo. Cristiano stirred a storm after walking out during the clash with Tottenham. He got dropped from the squad for the Chelsea game, placing his Man United future in doubt.

Chelsea have again been linked with the centre-forward, but Graham Potter reportedly prefers Rafael Leao instead of Ronaldo. One way or another, Cristiano Ronaldo could leave Man United, which may prompt the club to look for a replacement.

Dembele has thus emerged as an option for the Dutch boss. And Man United are keen to understand how they can broker a move. Moussa has faced difficulties in recent campaigns, and currently, he is in the last year of his deal with the Lions. Lyon could accept a cut-price deal in January. Otherwise, they will lose the Frenchman on a free transfer in the summer.
