Man United request for January transfer could reach €45-50m

Anthony Martial has had 247 minutes of football for Manchester United so far this season, with the choices of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and fitness issues holding the Frenchman back from making more appearances.

The competition for a place in attack is perhaps the strongest it has ever been since Martial arrived at the Premier League club, and there’s inevitably been talk of a potential exit.

With a contract lasting until 2024, and with Manchester United having an option to extend it by a further year, there’s no pressure on a move in that regard.

Calciomercato report Martial could be offered to Juventus as soon as the January transfer window. The report states the English club’s requests for a move ‘could reach €45-50m’, and that’s described as a ‘reckless figure’ given the player’s lack of game time this season.

Instead, Calciomercato believe Juventus could offer a one and a half year loan, with a buying option set at €30m in summer 2023. They would also contribute to the Frenchman’s wages over that period.

Once again, this seems like an Italian report heavily weighted to what Juventus would desire, rather than a good deal for Manchester United.

Sending the 25-year-old on loan for such a long period, without the Turin club having an obligation to buy, doesn’t look like a great solution for the Red Devils.
