Man Utd eyeing move for £45m-rated Premier League star

Liverpool and Man Utd reportedly face fresh competition from Real Madrid for Wolves playmaker Ruben Neves.

The Premier League rivals have each been rumoured with Neves in recent transfer windows, without a transfer ever managing to be finalised.

Neves still has two-and-a-half years left on his current deal, however, it was reported in the summer that Wolves would entertain bids in the region of £45m.

According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, however, the Merseyside Reds and the Red Devils have now been joined by La Liga heavyweights Real Madrid in the race for the Portugal international’s services.

The report suggests that the Los Blancos head-coach Carlo Ancelotti “fell in love” with Neves during his time managing Everton and is pushing for Spanish giants to sign the 24-year-old.

Neves has started nine of Wolves’ opening 11 Premier League matches this season and featured from the substitutes’ bench in the other two.

Meanwhile, La Liga giants, Barcelona will reportedly put their contract proposal to Gavi “in the next few days”, with the Catalan outfit believing that it is only a “matter of time” before an agreement is reached.

The 17-year-old playmaker who became Spain’s youngest ever international last month, has broken into the Catalan giants first team this campaign, playing 14 games in all competitions.

Gavi’s current contract at Camp Nou set to expire in June 2023, and a number of teams, including Liverpool and Manchester United, have allegedly been keeping close tabs on the situation.
