‘A huge talent’: Mikel Arteta praises Man Utd star ahead of Sunday’s game

Before Sunday’s Premier League match at the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta hailed Rasmus Hojlund of Manchester United as a tremendous potential.

Hojlund signed a £72 million contract to join the Red Devils from Atalanta on August 5, but his back issue throughout the preseason has prevented him from playing for the team.

The Dane is expected to play against the Gunners after a week of training, and Arteta described him as a “huge talent” during his press conference.

The Spanish strategist went on to say that although he is receiving a lot of positive feedback, he now needs to establish his worth after moving up to the English premier league.

“I like not to speak about players, he’s a huge talent and everybody is talking really highly of him and he will have to prove that in this league,” he said in an interview with Arsenal.com.

A possible line leader versus Arsenal is Hojlund.
Anthony Martial replaced Marcus Rashford as United’s starting striker against Nottingham Forest last weekend after Rashford started the first two games of the season as the starting player.

Hojlund was able to lead the line on Sunday, but neither was very productive in the number nine position. His availability to play has already been verified by manager Erik ten Hag.

Ten Hag may decide to start with Hojlund, but for fitness-related reasons, he might substitute him after an hour.

The 20-year-old would offer a new threat for the Gunners defence to contend with. He is a complete player because of his strength, quickness, and dribbling ability.

One advantage is that you’re a natural at the role. Although Rashford has a lot of experience playing up front, he frequently misses easy opportunities. The fact that Hojlund is available helps United.
