Manchester United ‘ready to offer’ €25m package to sign Brazilian – Red Devils have ‘swooped’ in late

Manchester United strengthened their attack after spending a lot of money on Rasmus Hjlund only to learn that the Danish international had an injury.

The Red Devils have had trouble scoring goals in their opening two games of the season since he has yet to participate and might not return until after the upcoming international break.

They may be pursuing yet another striker as a result, despite requiring assistance in other areas of the field like midfield and defence, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

That man is Marcos Leonardo, who is presently playing for Santos in Brazil. When suspicions about him being a target for AS Roma first surfaced, Manchester United had previously been connected to him.

In a piece on the potential changes the Serie A team might make before the transfer market closes on Thursday, Gazzetta adds some more to that.

As they “wait for the return of Tammy Abraham and the landing of Marcos Leonardo,” on whom Manchester United “also swooped, ready to offer €20m + €5m in bonuses,” they note that AS Roma could pursue Willian José.
Given how financially strapped the club has been lately, that is a bold statement from the Italian tabloid. However, if they can complete one or two sales, the notion of Sofyan Amrabat and Marcos Leonardo for around €50 million would be appealing.
