Due to the impending departure of midfielder Donny van de Beek, Manchester United is getting closer to signing Sofyan Amrabat from Fiorentina, according to Football Transfers.

The Dutch coach has reaffirmed his intention to increase depth and competition in each position across his team. Via the Mirror, he disclosed to Sky Sports:

We require doubling at every position due to the volume of games we must cover. We need competition, and dealing with injuries, suspensions, and player form is a constant. I need good players, but each player also needs to have the right attitude.

According to reports, Ten Hag wants to sign another central midfielder, and Amrabat has received a lot of attention. However, in order to raise further finances and make way for any new hires, United must dispose undesired players.

According to the report, United are getting closer to signing the Fiorentina player because personal terms have already been agreed upon with the Moroccan international.

Amrabat, a midfielder from Morocco who is rated at £26 million by Transfermarkt, would be a great addition to United if they could finalise a deal. He made 49 games for Fiorentina in all competitions, helping the team to eighth place in the Serie A and the UEFA Europa Conference League final while contributing one assist.
