Blow for Man Utd as £69million target agrees deal to move elsewhere

Goncalo Ramos, a centre forward for Benfica and a Portuguese international, has long been a target for Manchester United.

The Red Devils were actually in the running to sign the Eagles striker back in June.

The Seleccao star has reportedly reached an agreement to join Paris Saint-Germain, according to the most recent rumours.

Le Parisien claims that the French champions and the 22-year-old attacker have come to terms, and that the champions of the Primeira Liga must now negotiate a fee.

According to the news source, Benfica is asking for £69 million (80 million euros) in order to allow Goncalo Ramos to depart within the current transfer window.

It must be kept in mind that Man Utd and Atalanta reached an agreement on a considerably more expensive contract to sign Rasmus Hojlund.

The previous season, the Danish centre forward only managed to score 9 goals in Serie A. Ramos, though, scored 19 goals in the league to assist the Lisbon club in capturing the Liga Nos.

The seven-cap international further demonstrated his value in the FIFA World Cup by scoring an exquisite hat-trick against Switzerland in the Round of 16.

We have lost illustrious goal scorers like Edinson Cavani and Cristiano Ronaldo in recent transfer windows. Only the acquisition of an untested and unproven striker like Hojlund would not be sufficient to replace the two.

In your opinion, who else should Erik ten Hag try to recruit to Old Trafford to bolster the strike force now that Ramos has decided to join PSG?
