Man Utd: Ten Hag can’t wait to land ‘dream’ £150m Ronaldo replacement

The Red Devils may have spent more than £200million during the summer window, but ten Hag has set his sights on completing a big-money deal in the coming months.

According to the Mirror, Mbappe has emerged as a shock target after Manchester United have accelerated their plans to replace Ronaldo.

The report suggests the Red Devils are in a position to pay upwards of £150million for the 59-cap France international, while they could also offer a contract worth £500,000-per-week.

It emerged last month that Mbappe is seeking a move away from PSG in the January transfer window, leading to interest from Manchester United’s arch-rivals Liverpool.

However, the 23-year-old quickly denied wanting to secure a quickfire exit and insisted he was ‘shocked’ by the revelations.

Mbappe is currently in Qatar, having been named in France’s World Cup squad by head coach Didier Deschamps.

Jones believes Manchester United will be in the market for a frontman when the transfer window reopens for business.

However, the journalist has serious doubts over whether the Red Devils will succeed in their pursuit of Mbappe.

Jones told GIVEMESPORT: “There’s obviously a very good chance they’re going to need a striker in January.

“But I’m told there’s almost no chance of Mbappe moving in January, so this is something that’s probably going to have to be beyond that if they really do dream of replacing Ronaldo with him.”
