Sir Jim Ratcliffe initiates contact with elite Man Utd manager target as Ten Hag exit accelerates

According to sources, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the manager of Manchester United, has reached out to Thomas Tuchel in an attempt to replace Erik ten Hag this summer.

Ten Hag under pressure earlier in the season when Manchester United’s elimination from the League Cup and Champions League severely diminished their prospects of taking home a trophy. Even though Ten Hag’s team advanced to the FA Cup final, his legacy was not greatly improved by the legendary match versus Coventry City.

Even though Man Utd led 3-0 after 70 minutes, they let Coventry re-enter the game. When Man Utd rallied to tie the game at three points in stoppage time, the Championship team upset them and forced extra time in the semi-final.

Victor Torp’s goal off Haji Wright’s through pass gave Coventry the appearance of victory at the very end, but an offside flag from VAR gave Manchester United a chance to salvage a point.

Ultimately, the Red Devils prevailed through penalties, securing a rematch with local rivals Manchester City in the FA Cup final. However, Ten Hag will be extremely irritated that his team could not complete the task in the allotted 90 minutes.

Among those in attendance at Wembley were Ratcliffe and the recently appointed technical director, Jason Wilcox, who was not impressed with what he witnessed.

Ratcliffe’s decision to fire Ten Hag this summer seems more feasible given that Manchester United is still far behind English competitors like City, Liverpool, and Arsenal.

Kicker staff writer Georg Holzner reports that Ratcliffe has already begun to replace Ten Hag.

Thomas Tuchel, a tangible goal for Manchester United
The wealthy British has reached out to former Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel to inquire about the possibility of taking over as Manchester United’s manager.

Inquiring as to whether Tuchel will “commit” to Man Utd before the upcoming season, Ratcliffe ranks Tuchel “highly.” Right now, the German is debating whether to accept Ratcliffe’s proposal.

Tuchel has made a dramatic about-face and may decide to stay at Bayern, even though the two had already decided to split ways.

Holzner does, however, affirm that Tuchel will undoubtedly depart Bayern in the summer, giving Man United the opportunity to sign him.

Man United is not just interested in Tuchel as a manager; they are also monitoring Roberto De Zerbi, Gareth Southgate, and Thiago Motta.

But Tuchel is the best option because of his history, having won the Champions League with Chelsea.

Though it seems implausible, reports in France have connected Man Utd with Zinedine Zidane, another UCL champion manager.
