Man United in fight for signing as 24-year-old transfer target ‘looks set’ to leave current club this summer

When it comes to chasing Jean-Clair Todibo, Man United is up against it.

It’s quite likely that Manchester United will recruit a central defender this summer. Considering the issues Erik ten Hag has been facing in that particular region of the field, it makes perfect sense.

Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez have struggled to maintain their fitness. The ages of Jonny Evans, Victor Lindelof, and Harry Maguire are approaching. The Reds’ back line needs to be reliable.

Among the names associated with covering the gap are Jarrad Branthwaite and Jean-Clair Todibo of Nice.

The Mirror has now given an update on that front during the past day. Atletico Madrid is now vying with United for the centre defender, whom they have declared a “top priority.”

Furthermore, according to The Mirror, Todibo “looks set” to go from his present club this summer. Liverpool, Chelsea, and Tottenham Hotspur have all been mentioned as having expressed interest.

Here, United may try to take use of Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s connections in Nice. The Reds are in a stronger position since he will be familiar with the ins and outs of the Todibo transfer transaction, even if he is still the chairman of the French club.

Compared to the previously mentioned Branthwaite, Todibo is a less expensive option, estimated to cost roughly £40 million. Additionally, I contend that the Frenchman has advanced in his growth, which is likely what United needs at this point.

If the Argentine can get over his injury concerns, you would like to assume that Todibo is seen as Licha’s long-term companion.
