Manchester United is keen to sabotage Real Madrid’s attempt to sign Estevao Willian, a.k.a. “Messinho.”

Brazil’s best young players have been acquired by Real Madrid on a regular basis in recent years; Endrick is expected to join Vini Jr. and Rodrygo to the Bernabeu this summer.

According to Defensa Central via Fichajes, Los Blancos have also targeted Estevao Willian to join this elite trio, although Man Utd will be a rival.

“Manchester United is desperate to beat Real Madrid in the race to recruit Estevao Willian, a teenage prodigy from Palmeiras who goes by “Messinho” in Brazil. It is said that the English team is trying to ruin Real Madrid’s intentions to sign the outstanding Brazilian attacker.

Messinho, who has also played five times for the Palmeiras main team, gained international recognition after his impressive U17 World Cup performance, in which he scored two goals and set up three.

The report claims that Man Utd is prepared to pay up to €90 million to sign the teenager, even if it exceeds his €60 million release clause. This demonstrates their resolve to sign the athlete, whom they view as a “long-term investment” in the team.

Estevao’s release clause is set to be paid by Chelsea, thus there will likely be fierce competition to sign him.

Barcelona and PSG have withdrawn from the competition, believing the €60 million price tag on his head to be too high a risk.

“Speak to me, Estevao—not Messinho.”
Estevao is optimistic that the moniker “Messinho,” which translates to “little Messi,” will soon be abandoned.

“I don’t like being called Messinho because my name is Estevao and I’m going to be Estevao,” he recently declared in an interview with AS. I am Estevao on the pitch, and I am really appreciative and delighted about it. In my opinion, Estevao is a better last name than Messinho.

If Man Utd are successful in signing Estevao, his contract would be on hold, similar to Endrick’s Real Madrid agreement, and he would only be eligible to join the team when he reaches 18.
