Dan Ashworth, the new sporting director of Manchester United, has apparently been given the go-ahead to pursue the double acquisition of Jeremie Frimpong and Gleison Bremer this summer. However, the arrival of these three players, who cost a combined £91 million, is expected to signal the end of their careers.

The Red Devils are preparing for what they believe will be a thrilling new chapter in their history, one that may see them once again contend for the highest honours in the sport. Manchester United supporters have been forced to watch as teams like Liverpool and Manchester City compete for the main trophies in the game for far too long.

But in his first speech following the completion of his £1.4 billion acquisition of 27.7% of the Glazers’ Old Trafford shares, Sir Jim Ratcliffe expressed his intention to unseat United’s two bitter adversaries.

Of all, saying something and actually doing it are two very different things. Nevertheless, since assuming complete sports control at Old Trafford, the British billionaire hasn’t spent any time in putting together a stellar group of football experts who want to return United to its former glory as soon as possible.

Although United is given hope by the appointment of Omar Berrada as CEO and Jean-Claude Blanc as director, it is Ashworth’s immediate entrance as the team’s first-ever sports director that has fans’ hearts racing.

The outgoing Newcastle player, who helped turn around the Magpies’ fortunes and get them back into the Champions League, is regarded as one of the greatest in the business.

Journalist: Man Utd’s interest in Jeremie Frimpong is confirmed.

They are now hopeful that United can experience a significant improvement and that the Ashworth effect can be just as powerful there.

Ashworth and Ratcliffe are reportedly looking to add at least four big players to Old Trafford this summer, including a new center-half, midfielder, and striker. There are also frequent rumours that they are interested in a new full-back and another right-sided winger.

In fact, Frimpong, who spent his time in Germany with Bayer Leverkusen, has become one of the top right-backs in world football, is a name that frequently comes up in conversation at Old Trafford.

Frimpong has an amazing 11 goals and seven assists this season, putting him on pace to win the Bundesliga title. Despite this, he has been linked to several high-profile clubs due to his performance.

The former Celtic player does, however, have a modest €40 million (£34.3 million) departure clause in his contract, which gives his suitors some hope that they can work something out to get him out of the BayArena.

Now, dependable reporter Ben Jacobs claims that United is making strong progress towards bringing the Netherlands international to Old Trafford.

He wrote this in his Givemesport column: “Watch out for a right full-back who will also be visiting Old Trafford.

It is highly likely that Jeremie Frimpong will depart from Bayer Leverkusen during the summer, and he is willing to play in the Premier League. Prior to the World Cup, Manchester United communicated with Frimpong’s squad, but it’s clear that Ratcliffe and his group are in charge now.

Ashworth is advocating for the sale of Gleison Bremer and Manchester United.

It is commonly known that United is interested in recruiting a new center-half in addition to Frimpong. Gleison Bremer and Jarrad Branthwaite seem to have been the two main targets of that quest in recent days.

Although neither player would be inexpensive, they would improve Erik ten Hag’s existing central defence choices and lower the average age of United’s possibilities.

According to Jeff Stelling, Branthwaite is expected to join United, and the former Sky Sports host is certain that a deal can be reached to bring him from Everton.

Talks about a possible trade deal involving a contentious Manchester United player have reportedly begun with the Serie A powerhouses, but publications in Italy are sure that Juventus star Bremer is actually their priority target.

Calciomercato provides an update on those rumours, stating that United has now informed the Bianconeri that they are prepared to satisfy the Brazilian’s exit clause. The clause values the player at between €50 million and €57 million (£43 million and £49 million), making him somewhat less expensive than the Everton player.

It is currently said that United is hopeful that a deal can be reached, with Juventus unable to stop it from happening.

Additionally, it’s said that Ashworth would let go of three players this summer, with deals worth £91 million expected to leave, despite rumours that both Frimpong and Bremer will arrive.

Varane and Wan-Bissaka are leaving Manchester United

First up is Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who has Ten Hag’s trust but lacks the offensive skill that elite teams want from their full-backs these days. He cost Crystal Palace £50 million in the summer of 2019, but he can go for between £25 and £30 million, according to reports.
