There’s no getting around the fact that Manchester United’s 2022–2024 season has been unsatisfactory.
After winning a domestic trophy and placing third, the team is now just outside the top four, but they still have a chance to win the FA Cup thanks to their victory over Liverpool.
Marcus Rashford’s decline in form has been the worst of the team’s talents, albeit Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes, and Christian Eriksen have also underperformed this season.

The Englishman is currently losing to a former United failure who is playing abroad, and he has changed from last year’s game.
This season’s performance of Marcus Rashford
Rashford had one of his best seasons ever in the 2022–2023 league, if not ever. The Manchester native was one of Europe’s most lethal strikers and even had a fantastic World Cup performance for England.

In just 56 games, the right-footed dynamo concluded the Premier League season as the sixth-highest scorer with 30 goals and 11 assists for the Red Devils.
He converted sceptics into believers and, by the summer, found himself on multiple lists for Team of the Season, so supporters anticipated a similar campaign this year.
Regretfully, he has only managed to score eight goals and provide six assists in 35 games for Erik ten Hag’s team thus far. This is a significant decline in his play.
Although he has improved since Christmas Day, having contributed two assists and six goals in those 12 games, the local boy is still far from his peak form from the previous campaign, and as of right now, a former United failure is outscoring him.
The stats for Wilfried Zaha’s season
The tricky winger Wilfried Zaha, a former United player, is the one in question. In his two years there, he appeared in just four first-team matches.

Although there may have been some extenuating circumstances for David Moyes’ decision not to give the Ivorian wideman a chance, it was a terrible move for the wideman to join the team just months before Sir Alex Ferguson resigned.
In February 2015, Zaha returned to Crystal Palace in a transaction that only cost £3 million. After that, he became one of the Premier League’s most exciting players for the following eight and a half years, finishing his career with 90 goals and 76 assists in 458 games for the South Londoners.
In order to realise his dream of competing in the Champions League, the “unplayable” ace—as former professional James Collins nicknamed him—selected to sign with Turkish powerhouse Galatasaray in the summer.
His return of 10 goals and five assists in 37 games is very fantastic going, and his goal against United at Old Trafford must have been cathartic, even though he may be playing a little less than he would have expected.

Zaha was ultimately a victim of bad luck and timing at United. Although selling him back to Palace in 2015 was likely the right decision, it would have been interesting to see how he would have fared had he stayed at the Theatre of Dreams, particularly considering that he has since recorded 135 goals and 82 assists.
