Manchester United emerged victorious in an incredible FA Cup quarterfinal match against Liverpool, 4-3.
Manchester United had a thrilling game in which they gave it everything they had and yet managed to win.
Scott McTominay took the lead early on, but a solid first-half performance was undone when Erik ten Hag’s team’s persistent shortcomings came back to bother them. Two goals in the space of three minutes from Alexis Mac Allister and Mohamed Salah put the game out of reach.
The most of the second half saw United play poorly, but the manager’s adjustments gave the team more energy, and Antony’s late goal tied the score to force extra time.
Harvey Elliott gave Liverpool the lead after an incredible extra thirty minutes, but Marcus Rashford and Amad gave United another fightback and the winner in the last seconds.
Here are the players’ ratings following an exciting match and historic victory.
Amad and Antony rejoice.

Andre Onana, age seven
keeps making an impression with a string of excellent saves, particularly from Darwin Nunez, and self-assured remarks. cannot be held accountable for any of the goals because he was caught off guard by two unlucky deflections and was unable to save a rebound after making an excellent save.
ADDITIONAL UNITED STORIES
Diogo Dalot (6)
exhibited strong defence against the prickly Luis Diaz who caused Manchester City so much problems a week prior, with little threat to his side. was also a threat in the later stages.
Five Raphael Varane
remained in the net rather than moving out to attempt to make a block after Nunez’s shot was saved, indicating that they were unaware of Mohamed Salah’s potential. An afternoon of difficulty versus the Uruguayan.
Victor Lindelof – six
There were a few excellent blocks in the first half, but Salah’s goal was poorly positioned, giving Nunez plenty of room to fire. Was extremely fortunate that Nunez, who misjudged a ball and let him through, wasted a chance in the second half.
But after switching to left back, he really improved and moved forward effectively. came really close to scoring.
Wan-Bissaka Aaron – 7
For the first time in months, Wan-Bissaka was playing on his weaker side, but he still moved the ball well and was dangerous when he found space in the attack. made a few excellent interceptions and challenges. kept Salah quiet for the most part, but the leveller was able to open a space because of the left side’s lack of familiarity.
Seven Scott McTominay
A mixed bag of important contributions. got into good offensive positions, particularly when he scored his team’s equaliser and seized the opportunity to give his side the lead.
Nevertheless, McTominay does not provide enough on defence or in possession throughout the course of the ninety minutes. Is his goal threat worth being surrounded in midfield all the time, giving excellent players plenty of room, and losing possession of the ball? It may not have remained in this match indefinitely.
Kobbie Mainoo, age eight
Fantastic play to get through Liverpool’s press and set up a decent opportunity in the first minute. It was the beginning of an amazing show. Mainoo was relentless in tracking back, consistently winning the ball back in advantageous situations, and setting United apart with excellent passing.
United’s best player during regular time, and when he was substituted late in the game, he was met with a well-earned standing ovation.
(8) Aleandro Garnacho
What a complete performance, contributing directly to three of the four goals.
Up until the pivotal goal in the 120th minute, he was a constant menace on offence. A brave and impressive performance from a player who is fast becoming as United’s main forward.
Bruno Fernandes (7)
worked hard and made some beautiful passes, but Salah’s goal required him to be stronger when he was taken out of the game. Happy not to have been dismissed following an ill-timed challenge on Dominik Szoboszlai when they were already reserved.
deserves praise for his selfless performance in extra time, where he covered for Ten Hag’s forward substitutions by first playing left back and then centre back.
Marcus Rashford, position six
Going forward on the left with a lot more assurance, he plays some lovely interplay and passes balls to his fellow forwards. But he did a terrible job of defending against Jarell Quansah, who easily slipped past him to score the equaliser.
missed two fantastic opportunities, one to win the match with the final kick of normal time, but also managed to score a beautiful equaliser and almost set up McTominay for the winner with a brilliant pass. Did a good job of not letting the miss depress him.
Rasmus Hojlund (4)
wasted a fantastic opportunity as he slipped on the ball after pausing to glance up instead of shooting. Still, he had a difficult first game following his injury against Virgil van Dijk and was substituted in the 70th minute.
Alternatives
Antony, age six
Antony was introduced and did nothing for sixteen minutes until, in the last minute, he managed to wriggle a shot into the bottom corner to tie the score. He did a great job turning and shooting and assisted in making the goal. Perhaps there is yet hope for him.
Harry Maguire, age seven
a cool-headed defensive performance following his injury. gave United a genuine threat in attack and also came close to scoring.
Five Christian Eriksen
Some good intermediate passes.
Amad: 7
put in a tonne of effort and discovered a winner at the last minute to cap off an amazing comeback. took off his top and was sent off for his celebration.
Masonry Mount: Five
For his first game since November, Mount entered the game during the last 15 minutes of extra time, although he barely touched the ball.
