According to rumours, Man Utd has made Antony an offer to Barcelona in an attempt to get the Brazilian off their books during the summer transfer season.
After Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s agreement to purchase a quarter of the Premier League team was confirmed last month, the Red Devils are probably going to make significant changes in the summer.
To Barcelona this summer, Antony?
After taking over the football operations at Old Trafford, Ratcliffe and INEOS lost no time in trying to assemble a new leadership team.
While Man United and Newcastle are currently negotiating over a price to name Dan Ashworth as their new sporting director, Omar Berrada will be joining from Man City, the team’s bitter rivals.
There may also be significant changes to the playing roster, as there are speculations that INEOS plans to sell a number of players to raise money for a summer hiring spree.
They have Antony on their radar because the Brazilian hasn’t scored or assisted in 22 Premier League games this season.

Ten Hag made the decision to sign Antony to Manchester United in the summer of 2022, and the Red Devils approved an £85 million deal to bring the winger from Ajax to Old Trafford.
The Brazilian is just one player on a lengthy list of players the Premier League team has mishandled transfers of in the ten or so years after Sir Alex Ferguson departed Manchester United.
Furthermore, Man Utd has allegedly “offered” Antony to Barcelona before the summer as they “try to get rid” of the Brazil international, according to Spanish daily Nacional.
Ratcliffe and the Red Devils board members “hope to be able to find a buyer” and “have tired of him,” believing that “his days at Old Trafford are numbered.”
Man Utd, who have taken a “final decision” on his future, may permit “him to leave on loan” in order for him to step up his play and increase his own worth once more. However, they may find it difficult to get rid of the 24-year-old because Barcelona “have many doubts.”
The Barcelona megastars are also concerned that Antony “resembles” their fellow countryman Raphinha, who has struggled since leaving Leeds, and that it is “unlikely” that Barcelona “will make an attempt” to acquire the Manchester United winger.
There are presently no plans to return to Brazil.
Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano claims that there are presently no conversations regarding Antony’s possible loan return to Brazil, despite the player being linked to such a move.
“There have been further reports about Antony’s situation at Manchester United, with claims from Brazil that Flamengo are analysing a possible one-year loan move for the winger,” Romano wrote in his Caught Offside column.
