Fulham defeated Manchester United 1-2 at Old Trafford this afternoon. These are your game ratings as a player:
(A mean score is approximately 6.)
Andre Onana 7: One of just two players who managed to salvage some sort of credit from the match. appears to have at last found a balance between the roles at United and has stopped projecting fear. made a few excellent sweeps and saves.
Victor Lindelof 5: His spell at left-back went as well as could have been predicted prior to the game, save from a pivotal back post clearance in the first half. A trustworthy player abandoned to struggle alone in a foreign role on a broken squad.
Harry Maguire: (5) For the second straight game, clumsy as he simply barreled into opponents to give up fouls. seemed to have prevented United’s blushes with a deft late goal.
Raphael Varane 6: Better than the other centre back, but it’s not a difficult standard to meet. Nonetheless, he managed to hold his ground rather effectively and fended off any attempts from Fulham.
Diogo Dalot 6.5: Made a wild long-range attempt to strike the outside of the post, but he also played strong defence. Ten Hag is definitely reconsidering placing him on the left after seeing how well he performs on the right.
Kobbie Mainoo 6: This was his first game, by his usually excellent standards, that he felt a little uneasy. Several times, he was rushed on the ball in his own half and was unable to influence the situation going forward.
Casemiro 4: Is Casemiro missing his legs? He is definitely not the same player as he was the previous season, but that’s a different subject we addressed previously. was a roadblock the previous season, but opponents now enjoy effortlessly running past him.
Alejandro Garnacho 7: The only noteworthy element in a lacklustre attack. took a few shots as a natural inside forward to test their goal after picking up the ball in the half-spaces.
Omari Forson 5: He strayed from the game, realising that there were no more heroics from the academy to be replicated. A goal or an assist would have been nice, but more concerningly, there was a lack of the X-factor that immediately demonstrates a young player belongs at this level.
Bruno Fernandes 5-Fluffed a few excellent opportunities and gave a very unsatisfactory set-piece delivery.
Marcus Rashford 4-Fed off scraps in a squad that still has an offensive philosophy or any sort of play structure, and he got the whole “Manchester United striker in 2023/24” experience. couldn’t create anything with those scraps, in contrast to Hojlund.
Alternatives:
Christian Eriksen (4.5): Subbed on to settle things down, he really made things worse by misfiring passes all the time.
Scott McTominay 5: No heroics today, no goals scored. embodies Ten Hag’s “chaos ball,” which is vulnerable in defence and devoid of creativity and originality in attack.
Amad6: When he finally appeared, he was a member of an inept team and must have been wondering what he needed to do to get some minutes back.
With no more time to play, Antony 6 entered the game.
Supervisor Erik ten Hag 3- After nearly two years in command, there is no discernible philosophy, and this season the team’s style has regressed. The team is utterly devoid of players due to a few injuries, and his game management is very lacking. In the end, the performances and the results matched, and they did so today. While the players did not exactly walk off with the win, Ten Hag’s structural mistakes were a major factor in this loss.
