Man Utd ‘hold talks’ with two top managers as Sir Jim Ratcliffe plans to brutally replace Erik ten Hag

According to reports, Manchester United has had “preliminary talks” with two potential managers as Sir Jim Ratcliffe gets ready to take over for Erik ten Hag.

Due to their lack of consistency this season, the Red Devils are now eight points outside of the top four in sixth position in the Premier League standings.

Ratcliffe hopes to transform Old Trafford into the ideal location for the development of elite young players by rebuilding the squad in the summer.

“I am full of praise for him” |…

However, there may be other changes. As TEAMtalk recently reported, some club executives view Ten Hag as an interim manager rather than a long-term replacement.

Because Man Utd has won its last two games, the Dutch coach is under less pressure. However, his side was eliminated from the Champions League during the group stages, raising doubts about his long-term future with the organisation.

While there isn’t a “immediate desire” to replace Ten Hag, Caught Offside claims that if Man Utd’s performance does not improve dramatically in the second half of the season, there is a sense that he might be fired.

Man Utd contacts Antonio Conte and Julen Lopetegui

According to the report, Man Utd and Ratcliffe are in “initial contact” with Julen Lopetegui and Antonio Conte regarding Ten Hag’s possible exit.

Al Ittihad, a Saudi team, allegedly “recently approached” Lopetegui, who “turned down the chance” to become their manager because “an opening at Old Trafford could soon come about.”

Lopetegui has managed Porto, Real Madrid, Sevilla, the Spanish national team, and most recently Wolves, so he has a wealth of experience at the highest level.

The 57-year-old has experience managing some of the biggest football players and was particularly successful at Sevilla, where he won the Europa League in 2020.

Conte’s transfer to Manchester United would be less simple because “his preference is to remain in Italy closer to his family.”

It hasn’t been “completely ruled out” that the former manager of Tottenham and Chelsea will ever manage in the Premier League. and, in spite of claims to the contrary, “hasn’t agreed terms with AC Milan.”

Conte is a seasoned manager who has won ten major championships, making him the ideal choice if Man Utd is to once again compete at the highest level in European football.
