Man Utd negotiate to finally secure first signing before deadline

During the winter transfer season, Manchester United wasted time without adding even one player to bolster the roster.

There’s not much time left, rumour has it that Man Utd is in talks to sign Martin Braithwaite from Espanyol as their first signing of the month.

Before the winter transfer window closes, Man Utd is reportedly considering a bid to sign the Danish international, according to Marca.

According to the news source, the former Barcelona striker has a 7 million euro release clause, which will be reduced to 600,000 euros should Espanyol lose out on promotion to the Spanish La Liga.

According to a news source located in Madrid, Man Utd is reportedly discussing a discounted deal in order to sign Braithwaite prior to the deadline.

Rasmus Hojlund, who has only scored two goals in the Premier League this year, is the only striker available at Old Trafford at the moment.

Since Martial has been out of commission for several weeks and is still not fully recovered, the strike team is in dire need of help.

It is so perplexing that Man Utd would rather lower the asking price of 7 million euros with two days remaining in the transfer window rather than instantly buy an accomplished striker such as Braithwaite.

The 32-year-old attacker has scored 12 goals in 22 appearances for LaLiga2 this season.

Do you think Man Utd should sign Martin Braithwaite before the deadline on Thursday?
