As per rumours in Italy, Manchester United has notified Bologna that they are prepared to agree to a payment beyond £34 million in order to recruit Joshua Zirkzee.
A article from Corriere dello Sport today (see news image below) claims that the Dutch attacker has a £34 million (40 million euro) provision in his current contract with the Italian team that may be activated by his old team, Bayern Munich.
The Rome-based news source did note, though, that the Bavarians would need to match the sum if Bologna received offers over £34 million in order to reclaim him.
CdS suggest that Zirkzee of the Serie A team is a target for both Arsenal and the Red Devils in the Premier League.
According to the report, Man Utd has already told Bologna that they are prepared to “guarantee” a payment exceeding the £34 million termination clause in exchange for signing the forward.
To entice the 22-year-old away from the Italian team, even the Gunners are prepared to make an offer higher than the clause. So, the match between the PL titans may be exciting.
Zirkzee has so far helped the Rossoblu score nine goals in eighteen starts in the Serie A this season.
He is expected to start tonight at the San Siro against AC Milan, who are also trying to recruit him.
