Rio Ferdinand, a stalwart of Manchester United, has stated that players like Alejandro Garnacho and Jadon Sancho will understandably be perplexed as to why Erik ten Hag is still starting Antony ahead of them.

Since joining Manchester United from Ajax last summer, the Brazilian winger has failed to live up to expectations, and it’s reasonable to assume that some supporters are growing weary of this costly and well-known acquisition.

Over the years, United has had a number of high-profile failures, such Paul Pogba and Alexis Sanchez. Antony is another one who isn’t living up to expectations.

Ferdinand made the observation that when a manager appears to be giving preferential attention to an underperforming player, it must be tough for players like Sancho and Garnacho to stay off the team.

“In defence of Sancho, I believe he is sitting there observing the areas where he plays and asking himself, ‘How is this guy still playing?’” Ferdinand stated on Five Vibes.

I believe he’s still there, wondering, “How is Antony playing in front of me?

He will be sitting there thinking that, I can assure you. It sounds like Garnacho is saying the same thing. After eighty-four minutes, Garnacho enters the game and nearly wins it. as he poses a risk.

Ferdinand, who supported the struggling former Borussia Dortmund player for his unusual social media outburst yesterday, continued by saying he could see Sancho leaving United.

“But there’s no way Jadon is releasing a statement if he doesn’t think he performed well,” he continued. That’s the distinction.

I just can’t picture Jadon. He doesn’t talk, he doesn’t conduct interviews, and you never see him in public. Sancho must be telling the truth for him to have come out with this quickly.
