Man Utd ‘ready to make bid’ for midfielder after ‘agreeing to sell’ star who wowed in pre-season

One of Manchester United’s most promising young players from preseason is apparently gone.

Erik ten Hag needs to cut his team as the transfer window draws to a close. The Red Devils have been busy making additions this summer, spending more than others in their attempt to reduce the gap on the top two. Noam Emeran will reportedly be sold as part of the deal to Dutch team FC Groningen.

After impressive displays against Leeds United and Athletic Club in preseason, Emeran received a lot of appreciation from United supporters.

However, the Manchester Evening News reports that despite numerous loan offers, United have chosen to sell Emeran in order to allow him to continue developing with regular games and without hindrances. Despite his stellar preseason performances, the 20-year-old will now begin a new chapter in the Netherlands because there is no obvious route to the first team for him.

In the meantime, Viola News has stated Manchester United is prepared to move to sign Sofyan Amrabat of Fiorentina. The loss to Tottenham is thought to have accelerated Ten Hag’s need for a midfielder, and the team is reportedly prepared to make an offer within the next 48 hours.

Fiorentina are reportedly ready to accept a deal if their valuation of between £21 and £25 million is satisfied. According to reports, Amrabat lobbied for a transfer this summer, but Fiorentina have maintained a staunch stance and won’t sell unless their asking price is met. Even though United already has Casemiro in the holding midfield position, they surely need further help there, especially as Ten Hag is probably going to play occasionally with a double pivot. Both Scott McTominay and Fred are capable of playing the part, but neither has been able to persuade Ten Hag of their abilities.
