Sofyan Amrabat has been linked to Liverpool, but Fabrizio Romano thinks he has already decided to join Manchester United.
After missing out on Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia, the Reds are considering all of their options. Yesterday, sources stated that Amrabat, who was being pursued by Manchester United, is now a real possibility.
The newest was posted by Romano yesterday night on his YouTube page.
Sofyan Amrabat, a target for Liverpool, reportedly responded “yes” to Manchester United, according to Fabrizio Romano.
For more than two months, Manchester United has been mentioned as a potential signing for Sofyan Amrabat.
The Fiorentina star fits many of the criteria that Erik ten Hag’s team is looking for in a new deep-lying midfielder.
Liverpool have since joined the battle to sign Amrabat, though, and Romano asserted on his YouTube channel that the club made an inquiry about him yesterday night.
Amrabat appears to have already “said yes” to Manchester United, which is bad news for Liverpool.
“Liverpool know how much it takes to sign Sofyan Amrabat – on the club side and on the player side,” Romano claimed after stating that Liverpool had contacted to inquire about Amrabat.
Liverpool is now the focus. Both Fiorentina and the player’s bid were not submitted by them. Watch to see if Liverpool makes a bid for Amrabat or if they make a move for another player.
“At the moment, Amrabat is still employed by Man United; he agreed to join them at the end of June, but it has been about two months since then. The focus is now on Man United. Man United is on their way to Amrabat, but they now need to make a bid.
The last thing Liverpool needs right now is for another of their prime targets in the midfield to reject them in favour of a Premier League rival.
Amrabat has excelled for Fiorentina over the years and has been dubbed a “outstanding” player by Joe Cole on ITV (6th December 2022, 17:59), but it was his World Cup performances for Morocco that made him a wanted man.
He has been linked to Manchester United for some months, and given that he prefers Old Trafford to Anfield, they certainly hold an advantage over Liverpool.
However, because United is taking their time, Liverpool has the chance to approach him with a strong offer and entice him away before Ten Hag approaches him.
