Fabrizio Romano, a transfer expert, claims that Manchester United will make a formal proposal to sign Sofyan Amrabat of Fiorentina as soon as they are able to offload Fred or Donny van de Beek this summer.
The Red Devils have made the decision to strengthen their engine room this summer and have already paid £60 million to Chelsea for Mason Mount.
It seems, though, that Erik ten Hag is eager to add a second midfielder to his roster during this transfer window and has earmarked Amrabat as a top target.
However, it’s been claimed that because they’ve already spent more than £150 million on Andre Onana, Mount, and Rasmus Hojlund—who is close to joining Old Trafford after United and Atalanta reached an agreement in principle—they won’t be able to afford to add more firepower unless they sell some of their stars.
According to reports, Ten Hag is willing to let Fred leave the club as the United manager is also willing to sell Donny van de Beek. Ten Hag reportedly wasn’t impressed by the Brazilian’s performances last season.
Amrabat to Man United
The South American has recently been associated with Galatasaray, and he reportedly agreed to move to Turkey. On the other hand, Real Sociedad has made it clear that it wants to sign Van de Beek and has already started direct negotiations with Manchester United to do so.
Romano, a Twitter user, claimed that Manchester United will make an official offer to sign Amrabat as soon as they sell Fred or Van de Beek this summer.
The journalist further asserts that the Moroccan has already agreed to join Man Utd and does not wish to extend his stay at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.
Amrabat has no intention of moving to the Middle East because his priority is to join Old Trafford, according to Romano, who also claims that Saudi Arabian clubs have recently expressed interest in signing him.
Romano authored:
“Amrabat has no doubts: he replied positively to Manchester United and has been interested in moving since the first discussions in June, despite high Saudi offers. There isn’t an official bid yet; Man Utd will send one as soon as Fred and Donny depart.
It has been reported that Fiorentina are willing to let their star player leave if they receive a bid of about £26 million from one of his potential suitors, like Manchester United. The African can therefore be acquired by the record Premier League champions for a fair price if they do so during this transfer window.
