New striker being signed by Manchester United?

Mason Mount and Andre Onana were acquired by the Red Devils and Erik ten Hag from Chelsea and Inter Milan, respectively, to bolster the team in advance of the upcoming campaign.

Since then, there has been focus on finding a new center-forward, with Anthony Martial the only senior option currently available to Ten Hag.

But given that the Frenchman is reportedly one of several players up for sale, it is clear that Old Trafford needs a new forward to arrive before the deadline.

In recent weeks, Hojlund has been strongly linked with a move to Manchester and seems to be the team’s top attacking target. Earlier this month, a player-plus-cash offer was reportedly made; however, Atalanta had been holding out for a cash-only deal and had rejected the offer. Now, however, it appears as though they will get their wish after a breakthrough.

Recently, Romano shared a significant development regarding Hojlund and a potential transfer to Manchester United on Twitter. The player has already signed a five-year contract and the two clubs have reached an agreement on a package worth approximately €70 million.

“Rasmus Hojlund is heading to Manchester United. With Atlanta, an agreement has just been reached.

“Package will be around €70m with add-ons, clubs preparing documents in the next day. Hojlund only wanted Manchester United, so he agreed to a five-year contract ten days ago.
Just how talented is Rasmus Hojlund?

Hojlund, who is just 20 years old, already seems to be a star in the making. Even though the left-footed striker only recently signed with Atalanta in the summer, his Transfermarkt value has soared to a career-high €45 million.

During his first season in Italy, the Danish international scored 14 goals in 34 games and was described as “scary” by journalist Sacha Pisani because of his quickness. Gian Piero Gasperini, the manager of Atalanta, praised Hojlund as well and noted the forward’s “remarkable” technical ability in addition to his speed.

“Hojlund possesses a spirit, energy, and intensity in addition to a technical quality that is truly amazing.

“He still has a lot of room for growth. He is so fast over the 100 metres that he finishes in under 11 seconds without even trying very hard. He can move his legs very quickly and, given his height, has a low centre of gravity. He just keeps getting stronger every day, so I’m sure he’ll have a great career.

So it appears that in Hojlund, the Red Devils may be getting exactly what they need, both now and in the future. The forward appears to be improving in comparison to Erling Haaland of Manchester City, and hopefully he will continue to grow quickly in England, where you would anticipate that Ten Hag will make him his first choice.

In order to give Hojlund time to get to know his new teammates before their Premier League debut against Wolves, Man United may now work to complete a transfer as soon as possible.
