Tuesday morning, we reported on a piece in the Bergamo newspaper pleading with Atalanta to take seriously any substantial offer from Manchester United for Rasmus Hjlund.
There was concern that both parties might end up stalling a transfer, leaving the Serie A team little time to make moves for a replacement at the tail end of the window.
Well, if Sky Italia is to be believed, Manchester United’s pursuit of the Danish international may soon take a turn for the better, especially now that the André Onana transfer is almost ready to be announced.
All of the Red Devils’ efforts were directed towards finding Erik ten Hag the David De Gea replacement he so desperately desired, and that appears to have been accomplished now.
In light of this, Sky Italia reports that Manchester United has the young forward “in their sights” and that “the assault on Hjlund begins” from their end.
As they look for a “possible agreement” with the Italians for his transfer, “contacts are expected soon” with Atalanta to “get to the heart” of a potential transfer for the young forward.
This means that as Ten Hag continues to restructure his squad at Old Trafford, we can anticipate some movement in the coming days for a new striker.
