Earlier on Wednesday, we brought you news from Italy that Inter Milan officials are hoping to finalise a deal to send André Onana to Manchester United soon.
The custodian has reportedly already begun looking for a home in England after agreeing to a €7 million per year deal with the Red Devils. To end the operation, the two clubs must come to an agreement.
Italian journalist Rudy Galetti claimed on Twitter that Manchester United and the Serie A team have already “reached a verbal agreement” for a deal worth approximately £42 million [€49.2 million] plus bonuses of £5 million [€5.8 million].
In the upcoming 24 to 48 hours, ‘new contacts’ are anticipated between Erik ten Hag’s side and the Nerazzurri to work out the last details to complete the operation, he adds. The Cameroonian is’ready’ to sign with the Premier League club.
Onana joined the San Siro as a free agent in the previous summer. Piero Ausilio, Inter’s sporting director, reportedly worked out a deal for him months before his contract with Ajax expired, according to Libero, who spoke through FcInter1908.it.
They claim the custodian is Ausilio’s “masterpiece” in terms of transfers and is about to be sold to Manchester United for a price of at least €55 million plus bonuses.
Even though the data presented here refutes Galetti’s assertion, the two sources are adamant Onana will transfer to Manchester United during this window.
