Move pending: “Remarkable” marksman is waiting for Man Utd to sign him; he’s promised he’ll join

Rasmus Hojlund of Atalanta has reportedly pledged to join Manchester United and is presently waiting for the two clubs to reach an agreement, giving Manchester United’s pursuit of him momentum.

Who is Man Utd acquiring this summer?
Man United are reportedly finalising their plans to find a striker, according to CaughtOffside. New approaches are anticipated for Hojlund and Goncalo Ramos in the near future, while moves for Harry Kane of Tottenham and Victor Osimhen of Napoli are now deemed unrealistic.

Tottenham has never been interested in selling their star player to a Premier League rival, and Kane has made it clear that he wants to join Bayern Munich. Meanwhile, Osimhen is too expensive for the Red Devils because Napoli will not consider offers for him below €150 million (£128 million).

With Atalanta reportedly holding out for a fee of £50 million to approve the striker’s departure, Ramos and Hojlund are currently United’s top targets in attack. Personal terms have already been agreed upon with the 20-year-old, who is eager to move to Old Trafford.

The young forward has now “promised himself” to Man United, according to a report from Corriere dello Sport (via Sport Witness), and he is currently awaiting to see if the two clubs can come to an agreement.

The starlet impressed Old Trafford officials enough to warrant a transfer, assuming they are prepared to meet Atalanta’s asking price, after moving from Sturm Graz to the Serie A for €17.2 million (£14.7 million) last summer.

Rasmus Hojlund, how many goals has he scored?
Despite frequently being compared to Erling Haaland, a star for Manchester City, the Atalanta forward hasn’t always been as proficient in front of goal. Last season, he scored nine goals in 32 Serie A games.

The young player, like Haaland, spent some time in the Austrian Bundesliga, where his offensive statistics were impressive, tallying 12 goals and four assists in 21 appearances for Sturm Graz, and he has already scored six goals for Denmark.

The former Sturm Graz player impressed Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini during his debut campaign in Italy, saying:

“Hojlund possesses a spirit, energy, and intensity in addition to a technical quality that is truly amazing. There is still so much room for him to grow. Beyond just his appearance, he shares many traits with Haaland.

Prior to furthering:

“Hojlund is so quick; he runs the 100 metres in under 11 seconds, and he’s not even trying hard. He has a low centre of gravity for his height and has quick leg movement. He just keeps getting stronger every day, so I’m sure he’ll have a great career.

Although Hojlund has great potential and, given his age, could lead the line for Man United for the next decade, Erik ten Hag will undoubtedly be disappointed if he is unable to make a marquee signing, such as Kane or Osimhen. And from the looks of things, we could see him in a United shirt next season.
