A French forward who has been dubbed the legendary Thierry Henry’s successor is in talks with Manchester United.
Due to Cristiano Ronaldo’s midseason departure and the end of Wout Weghorst’s loan, the Red Devils are in need of a new striker this summer. Although Manchester United has not yet finalised the offer, an agreement in principle has been reached with Rasmus Hojlund of Atalanta.
Despite the offer made to the Dane, additional reports are now surfacing that another brilliant young talent is in the firing line.
Randal Kolo Muani of Eintracht Frankfurt has talked with United about a move this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano, a transfer expert, in an interview with GiveMeSport.
According to the Italian journalist, Kolo Muani’s price tag is approximately €100 million (£85 million). Although Eintracht wants €100m and still hopes to keep the player for one more season before selling him in the summer of 2024, it is true that Manchester United and the club have spoken briefly over the past two weeks to discuss the circumstances of the story.
Due to the impending arrival of Andre Onana, the recent purchase of Mason Mount, and the need for another center-back, Kolo Muani may be a bit on the pricey side for United this summer given their rumoured reduced spending plan. The French international is incredibly well-regarded and has previously been compared to his countryman Thierry Henry for his physique and playing style.
“Kolo Muani has a languid dribbling style and immense turn of speed that were hallmarks of Henry’s game – especially at a young age,” the official website of the Bundesliga stated in April. He plays with a cheekiness and strength on the ball that will leave Bundesliga defenders in his wake and cutting frustrated faces.
In the event that they don’t sign Harry Kane, Kolo Muani is reportedly on Bayern Munich’s shortlist as a possible No. 9.
