Manchester United have already agreed a deal to secure their second signing of the winter transfer window but they are in a rush to complete the formalities.

As per today’s version of The Daily Mail ( news image provided below), Man United are in a hurry to seal the signing of Wout Weghorst by 12pm today so that they can use the services of the Dutch striker in tomorrow’s Derby.

The 30-year-old left Turkey on a private jet for Manchester yesterday to complete his medical with the Red Devils.

The British source claim there is a possibility of him taking part in the contest against Manchester City but it is not 100% certain as yet.

It is reported that Man Utd are working almost as they have to seal the loan signing of the veteran by midday today to ensure the player is eligible to feature against the Sky Blues.

As per The Mirror , Man Utd manager, Erik ten Hag, wants Weghorst to be available for the contest against Pep Guardiola’s team.

The former AZ Alkmaar striker scored 8 goals and provided 4 assists in 16 appearances for Besiktas in the first half of the campaign. At the FIFA World Cup, he scored two goals against Lionel Messi’s Argentina.

In all fairness, even if United are able to register the player in time, it is unlikely he will start vs Man City. Instead, the tall striker could be used as a plan B.
