23yo’s’preference’is to’land a transfer’to Man United when he leaves current club

Manchester United’s squad has a gaping hole in it right now, following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Portugal international has to be replaced sooner rather than later if United are serious about challenging for major honours this season. The January transfer window now looms.

One man the club has been linked with is Joao Felix. The Portugal man is seemingly unhappy with life under Diego Simeone and is looking to move away from Atletico Madrid.

Now, according to Football Transfers, United have been given a potential boost in their hunt of Felix.

Apparently, the 23-year-old’s ‘preference’ is to ‘land a transfer’ to United when he leaves his current club. Newcastle United are also thought to be keen on signing Felix.

Felix has doubts about joining the Magpies due to their new project being relatively new, while their manager, Eddie Howe, wants to learn more about the player’s personality before making a move.

Right now, it’s being reported that an Old Trafford switch is Felix’s preferred option – which is obviously hugely positive news if United want to bring in the attacker.

Felix’s talent is undeniable. The natural ability is there, while he would fit in well with the brand of football that Erik ten Hag likes to play However, you get the feeling he’d cost a pretty penny, while the Reds probably don’t intend on spending big in the mid-season window.

Right now, I’m just not sure I see this move happening. Football Transfers add that PSG is Felix’s likeliest destination right now. I guess it helps when they have an unlimited amount of money they can pump into the club, whereas you don’t need me to tell you about how the Glazer family continue to operate anymore…
