Manchester United target Max Aarons ‘would be very interested’ in swapping Norwich City for Old Trafford, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.
Erik ten Hag, who was appointed as the Red Devils’ boss following the conclusion of last season, will be handed another opportunity to freshen up his squad during the January transfer window.
According to The Sun, Manchester United want to sign Aarons and are weighing up whether to test Norwich’s resolve during the early stages of 2023.
The report suggests the Red Devils have been long-term admirers and scouted the 20-cap England under-21 international during a victory over Germany in September.
Aarons is due to enter the final 18 months of his £22,500-per-week contract at the turn of the year, leaving Norwich in a precarious position.
The Canaries have admitted they will not be able to splash the cash during the winter window unless players are sold, which could play into Manchester United’s hands.
It is understood that Aarons, who is among a list of right-back targets put together by the Red Devils, is valued at £15million.
